Well hello there and welcome to The New Dad on the Block where I’ll be chronicling my adventures of becoming a father for the first time.

Whatever information you will find in my posts, are all based on my experiences with my beloved wife during our journey to becoming parents.

Also worth mentioning, that not only I’m becoming a father for the first time, this is my first try at blogging as well. Your kindness, patience and constructive feedback is more than welcome. Especially in situations when it might look that I’m doing something strange or out of the ordinary.

Now that that’s out of the way, what can you expect from The New Dad on the Block.

I’m writing this, and many more posts, as our baby is still in the warmth of the mother’s womb. Enjoying careless life on a mixed menu of spicy chicken wings, lemons, beans and all kind of sweets. Whatever a pregnant woman might desire at 2am in the middle of the night.

I aim to chronicle the experiences I’ve had during my wife’s pregnancy. Try and show you how this all looks from my point of view. When I looked out into the world, especially regarding the pregnancy period, I found that the scales where tipped more towards women. Which is perfectly fine, they are the real heroes of these stories and it’s normal to have more information for them to know what to expect. Our bellowed partners are going through one of the biggest changes of their lives.

We men are just trying to make the best of the situation as confused bystanders. Not saying we didn’t know what we got ourselves into, when our partners got pregnant. The honest reality is that most of the times, majority of us are clueless to what exactly is going on. We are just trying to figure it out and make sense of it all. The main objective, avoid getting your head bitten off.

All of this of course is valid if we are talking about our first time experience with the pregnancy journey. If you’ve been through this, then you are a master and you should be telling me what’s going to happen, instead of waiting to see what’s the next conundrum I’ll get myself into.

What you can expect for the foreseeable future is similar short posts that we will call Dad’s Chronicles. We’ll also take a stab at cooking some delicios meals, and of course, some true DIY dad projects. I’ll try to share as much insight as I can to the experiences I’m having throughout this 9 month journey. One more thing, it’s 40 weeks to be more accurate. I was reminded multiple times. Not sure what’s the difference but hey, thats what the medical professionals said.

Thank you for taking the time to read my little introduction and for visiting my page. Take care, have fun and see you in the next one.
